Lost Boston Garage Heat Resurfaces: Why 'Volume One' by The Ones! Demands Your Turntable

The modern record boom has officially entered its discerning era. According to recent reporting from Discogs on vinyl collecting trends and inflation, collectors are becoming far more selective with their shelf space—stepping away from impulse purchases to hunt down authentic, high-grade cultural artifacts. Instead of standard run-of-the-mill reissues, listeners are scouring bins for deep-cut regional gold that carries true historical punch. Enter "Volume One" by 1960s garage contenders The Ones!, now available in the UNDENIABLE record shop.

Why it matters

Long before Boston captured international attention with late-’60s psych and rock mainstays, underground clubs were fueled by the frantic electricity of garage rock outfits battling for stage supremacy. The Ones! emerged from Connecticut to become one of the hottest, most in-demand opening acts across Boston's legendary venue circuit in 1967.

Originally pressed in minuscule quantities on the Ashwood House imprint in 1966, Volume One captured lightning in a bottle. This definitive reissue treats the tape with the archival reverence it earned: an exacting replication of the original front and back Ashwood House cover and label art, pressed on audiophile-grade 180-gram vinyl housed inside a vintage-style thick board jacket. It cuts through the modern vinyl clutter by delivering genuine raw power—giving audiophiles and garage purists a tangible piece of New England rock history that sounds just as ferocious today as it did when fuzz pedals first took over the East Coast.
